The Ravens of Saint Vincent
When the relics of Saint Vincent sailed to Lisbon in 1173, two ravens rode the ship — one at the prow, one at the stern — and refused to leave his side. The pair guarded his tomb at the cathedral for centuries, kept and fed by the canons, and they perch on the city's crest still.
