Mugaritz
The table
A Basque farmhouse where dinner is a dare: edible stones, broken plates, and eight months of the year spent just thinking.

Mugaritz means 'border oak' — the 200-year-old oak by the door stands exactly on the line dividing two Basque towns, and named the restaurant.
The Basajaun
Deep in the Basque beech woods lives the Basajaun, the shaggy Lord of the Forest — taller than any man, one foot round like a hoof. He whistles to warn shepherds of storms and wolves, and it was from him, the old ones say, that the first Basques stole the secrets of planting wheat and forging iron.
The local landmark
Peine del Viento, San Sebastián stands as San Sebastián's defining structure — the sight that anchors the city in memory long after the meal is finished.
